sharing one Palm Desktop file between two computers

I have one Palm device connected to my computer running XP Pro. I would like my wife's computer (XP Home) to see the same Palm Desktop file so that she can make changes to it and update it with things I need to know.

I've shared the PalmOne folder, but when I try to access it from her machine, I'm informed that the file is in use by another user. The Palm Desktop file was not active on my machine at the time, though the HotSync Manager was active in the systray.

I then searched in these forums for advice on the matter, and found several people who have the same issue as I, but there were no solutions posted to those threads.

Any ideas? Anyone?

The Palm Desktop was not written to handle this requirement. Sorry, you need to look at sync applications or replace that software.

ok ... so what would you suggest? I don't know what software might be able to do this; the only one I'm aware of is ACT and that's a commercial product.

And to the best of my knowledge, the only software that will talk to a Palm is the Palm Desktop, as provided by PalmOne.

It syncs my outlook with my palm. Since I can have an Exchange Server, that can be sync'd as well.

Sorry, but there are far too many solutions out there so you get to decide what to try and if you are willing to pay.

I've successfully linked my Palm Desktop 4.1.4 (the version shouldn't matter) software between both my Notebook and my Netbook.
