iPhone 4 vs Evo 4G

Guys i have a question and i will appreciate honest unbiased answers.

I have an iPhone 4 and also had the iPhone 3G, but lately i got sick of the horrible service of ATT (my calls are dropped all the time in my own house). At the same time my wife have sprint and just got an EVO 4G which i have to admit does look cool and seems like a great phone

I can switch easily to sprint, get a discount for the phone (evo ) and keep my number but my question is what are the differences between the iphone and the evo, i know the evo will have much better service (probably anything will have better service then att) and the price is much better but i'm more interested in phone functionality, what can the evo do that the iphone cant? what can the iphone do that the evo cant?

any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Essentially the basic features of the phones would be the same, it is just a different operating system and a different way of doing things. Obviously the EVO 4G won't use the Apple iTunes site to download applications, music, etc. but would have a different source to do the same thing. I don't think that one particular device is better than the other, but you cannot use an iPhone on Sprint currently.

Feel free to ask additional questions for more feedback.

I thought, hmm. I bet someone is syncing their Evo 4G with iTunes.

I agree with birdmant that in virtually all aspects of functionality they will be equal. And any problem you run into changing (like syncing itunes or video skype) there's always an app that can help you work around. Another option if you like your iphone and don't want to get rid of it is Verizon. They actually have slightly better coverage than sprint in most areas; however, you will pay a bit more because of all the hidden fees to use the complete functionality of your smartphones. There's also a good chance that Sprint will have the iphone by the end of the year also. I'm not sure if you can root an iphone (or if you'd want to) but I love free wireless tethering abilities with my droid. Verizon also now has the Thunderbolt which is basically the evo for verizon. Actually there are a lot of options on the market for you right now and a lot of your decision making will have to do with what you like to do with the phone. There are also 3rd party coverage websites out there that can help you decide from current users which service will be the best in the areas you frequent most often.
My neighbor was in the same predicament as you before verizon started carrying iphones and decided to try the evo for a week but decided it was too much of a hassle trying to get used to a new operating system.
Best of Luck!

DISPLAY:
i4: 3.5 inch with 960 x 640 pixel
EVO: 4.3 inch screen with 800 x 480 pixel resolution

Weight:
i4: 4.8 ounces
EVO: 6 ounces

Cellular network:
i4: 3G
EVO: 4G

Memory:
i4: 16 or 32 GB flash drive
EVO: 8 GB microSD card included, supports up to 32 GB.

That's just some of the spec's.

The size is similar and the network differs from 3G and 4G.
